R. Bennett and Co. Ltd are Building Contractors and Joinery Manufacturers
The company was founded on June 1st 1945 by Mr J B R (Bob) Bennett. He carried out maintenance works mainly for Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries PLC, which we still have as our clients. In 1947 Mr G A Wright, the father of the Chief Executive Officer joined the company
The company has progressed as follows:
• 1948 - The company bought premises at 37 Jews Lane, Upper Gornal
• 1954 - Bought premises again in Jews Lane, Upper Gornal from a haulage contractor called "Bates"
• 1977 - The company moved to our present premises at Constitution Hill, Dudley.
• 1979 - Further land was purchased to the rear of the joinery shop.
• 1983 - Land and buildings purchased in New Bond Street
• 1984 - The joinery shop was rebuilt
• 1986 - First office extension built
• 1989 - Joinery shop extension built
• 1993 - Major changes to the yard
• 1995 - Major alterations carried out to the offices
• 2000 - New office block built
• 2007 - R. Bennett & Co. Ltd Cluster Construction Quarter feasibility study implemented.
